Iryna O’Reilly has offered free legal support to Ukrainian nationals who are escaping the conflict with Russia.
Iryna says “with thousands of people displaced, families losing their loved ones or having to flee the war zone, I personally feel that it is my duty as a Ukrainian to assist those in need.” Iryna plans to offer the help needed, whether that’s using the asylum system, or helping with legal paperwork that can be particularly challenging in a foreign language.
Iryna’s own family had to flee their home in Ukraine last year, and have not been able to return since. She’s also faced her own battles with establishing a new life in the UK when she arrived over 20 years ago. Her knowledge and experience make her the perfect candidate to offer both help and compassion to those displaced by the conflict.
Who doesn’t love a good news story, particularly at this time of year when the dark days could do with a little light.
