What is call patching?

Call patching allows you to have all calls, calls by enquiry topic, or specific callers ‘patched’ through to your mobile, your land-line, or any number you specify. The call agent will answer the call as though they are a member of your own team, they will note the callers name and reason for calling, they will then call you on your designated number and give this information to you, you can then choose to have the call patched through for you to deal with personally. If you do not answer, or it is not convenient for you to talk with the caller, the agent will continue to take a message and details on your behalf.

Why might call patching be helpful?

Call patching offers you an additional level of privacy, you are able to take important phone calls from your personal mobile or home land-line without having to give out personal numbers to clients or suppliers. The caller simply calls your work number and is patched through to your private number, while your number remains confidential. Call patching also offers you the flexibility to manage which calls disturb you and which don’t. You may wish to deal with certain customers personally, while others you’re happy to be dealt with by trained call agents, simply ask your virtual receptionist service to add these clients to your patching list. Call patching allows you to better shape and sculpt your customer service model, while giving you the space and time to run and grow your business.
